For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. Jeremiah 1:15
Today, I just want to finish up on a subject that I touched on yesterday, the Russian Israeli war. Today’s text is speaking of that war, which is described in great detail in Ezekiel 38 and 39. You won’t find this war in the history books because it hasn’t happened yet. But it will happen, because all of the other prophecies in the Old Testament have come to pass. And we could very well be already seeing the formation of the unholy alliance of Russia, Iran, and other nations that will come against Israel to trigger that war.
Three questions we need to answer: Who wins the war? Will it happen before the Rapture? What difference does it make to us? Firstly, God wins the war for Israel by a miraculous intervention – read the details in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Secondly, I don’t think this war will precede the Rapture. But I can’t be sure because some good people think it is entirely possible. Thirdly, this war is important for us to understand that our God is in charge of the nations of this world. We can worry unnecessarily when we see things happening around us that cause uncertainty or unpleasant conditions. But the God Who three thousand years ago could describe a war that has not happened yet can surely protect His people today from the foolish and dangerous decisions of the governments around us.
Keep your eye on the news of the Middle East to see whether the Russian Israeli war is about to happen. But don’t let it be a worry, because our God is in control. And He loves us as much as He does Israel. -Jim MacIntosh
