In order to become a professor, prominent atheist Richard Dawkins must have some level of intelligence. But what an absolute idiot he is making of himself! Dawkins declares that there is no God. And he exerts considerable time and effort to promote and spread his views. One of Dawkins’ most strident declarations is his hatred of God. He insists that he despises God. How utterly ridiculous of him to put so much money and effort into opposing and defying Someone or something that he doesn’t believe exists! It would be like you taking all of your life’s savings and possessions to fund an advertising and speaking campaign to tell the world that there is no such thing as pink flying elephants. Yes, poor Professor Dawkins is a prime example of what today’s text is telling us. Because the simple truth of Scripture is always the truth, it will always make foolish the so-called wisdom of all who deny or oppose it.
Evolution is one of Dawkins’ prime arguments, even though evolution is totally unprovable and scientifically impossible. Do you believe in evolution? Even a little bit? Even consider it to be remotely possible? Don’t! There is never a need to doubt or question the truth of creation. There is never a need to set aside any of the contents of Scripture. There is no purpose served in using the penknife approach, because all of the Word of God is true and reliable. And every word of man that says otherwise is false and deceitful.
Although Dawkins is a denier and defier of God, he is but one of millions. So much of the world’s educational systems are wrapped around the same foolishness. Much of the world’s media are carriers of the lies of the devil. The truth of our text is that these falsehoods that are being promoted and expounded will all be laid bare someday and be exposed for what they really are. Can you imagine how terrible it will be for a disputer such as Richard Dawkins to stand before the Great White Throne? And then to bow and acknowledge that the One on the throne is Lord of Lords? How thankful we should be that we have bowed in time and acknowledged Him, accepting His truth and mercy.
Believe God’s Word. To do so is so much better than to be deceived by the foolish liars of the world. -Jim MacIntosh
